Tom is a DJ and teacher of Argentine Tango who specializes in the social style of Tango. Tom was a founding member of Tango Colorado and he has 30 years of experience teaching Argentine Tango in Colorado. He has also been invited to teach in other parts of the US or Europe. Tom produced 40 Tango festivals starting in 2000, and is the organizer of the Denver Close Encounters dedicated to great social style tango dancing.
As a Tango DJ Tom has a Romantic and Lyrical orientation, and chooses a primary focus on Golden Era music from the early 1930s to the 1950s. Each tanda needs to have contrasting energy with the preceding and subsequent tandas. The ending song of a tanda needs to leave the dancers exhilarated for more, and the starting song is so compelling they have to get back to the floor as soon as possible.
